A Timeless Classic, Redefined
With enhanced rendering capabilities packed into a more compact and lighter frame, Sigma's flagship Sony E-mount 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art Lens presents an evolved optical design, delivering heightened sharpness, resolution, and portability. Featuring advancements like accelerated autofocus, a tactile aperture ring, and an impressively close minimum focusing distance of just 6.7 inches, this sleek successor is perfect for those who demand versatility without sacrificing quality.
Advanced Optical Engineering
Utilizing six "F" Low Dispersion (FLD), two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, and five aspherical elements, this lens significantly reduces chromatic aberrations and color fringing across its zoom range, ensuring enhanced clarity and color accuracy. Moreover, improved control over sagittal coma flare ensures consistently high resolution throughout the entire frame.
Beyond exceptional optical performance, the use of five aspherical elements also contributes to the lens' compact design, thanks to their slim, highly polarized construction. Combined with a bright f/2.8 aperture and rounded 11-blade diaphragm, this lens produces stunning bokeh effects.
Additionally, super multilayer and nano porous coatings have been applied to minimize lens flare and ghosting, resulting in imagery with rich contrast and accurate colors, even in challenging backlit conditions. Designed to minimize focus breathing, the lens ensures smooth and natural-looking focus transitions, particularly when capturing video.
Swift and Precise Focus
Equipped with a high-response linear actuator (HLA), the autofocus system delivers focusing speeds more than three times faster than its predecessor. At the wide-angle end of the zoom range, the lens boasts an improved minimum focusing distance of 6.7 inches, with a maximum magnification of 1:2.7, perfect for close-up photography or confined spaces.
Robust Yet Sleek Build
Despite maintaining the same number of lens elements, the lens has been re-engineered to a shorter length of 4.8 inches and a reduced weight of 1.6 pounds. The aperture ring now features click and lock switches for improved handling, while the internal structure incorporates metal components for durability. Additionally, rubber seals in the mount protect the lens from dust and moisture.
Enhanced Functionality
Two integrated AF-L buttons offer customizable control over various shooting settings, complemented by dedicated switches for AF/MF and zoom lock to prevent accidental barrel extension.
